Classic LifeCare is a family-run agency that has been leading the way in home care since 1974. That’s 50 years of the best home care experience. Founded by nurse Janet Sherwood, Classic LifeCare began in the family home with a primary focus on high-quality care delivery and client satisfaction.

Classic has evolved through cultural shifts and enormous innovations in home care, but the Classic LifeCare of today stays true to its core values of exceptional service and safety. We offer home care services in Vancouver & the Lower Mainland, Comox, Prince George, and Calgary.

In 1997, John Sherwood, the son of Classic LifeCare founder Janet Sherwood, took over the business operations when his mother became ill. For the last three decades, John has been at the helm of Classic LifeCare, leading alongside dedicated long-term employees.

Over the years, we built a strong reputation in our local communities which helped us to secure long-term contracts with esteemed organizations. We’ve maintained many of these agreements for over a decade, consistently meeting rigorous care and safety standards. Currently, we have partnerships with WorkSafe BC, Alberta Health Services, ICBC, Northern Health and more!

Whether you require just a few hours of home care per month, or 24-hour support, we are here for you. Depending on your location, we require a minimum of 2-3 hours of care per visit. Otherwise, we do not have any further requirements in terms of the number of visits per week or month or maximum duration per visit.

The Classic LifeCare Teams Driving Our Success

In addition to the Leadership Team, our structure includes four vital teams: the Scheduling Team, Nursing Team, Support Team, and our Field Healthcare Workers. Each team collaborates to achieve a common goal of providing an exceptional care experience.

Nursing Team

Nursing Team

Our nursing team is responsible for supporting our Healthcare Workers in delivering safe, high-quality care. They conduct home visits and initial assessments, create personalized care plans, and ensure safety standards are met.

Scheduling Team

Scheduling Team

At Classic LifeCare, the scheduling team handles customer service, coordinates care schedules for clients, and communicates these shifts to our Healthcare Workers. Additionally, they oversee the recruitment process and conduct internal orientations for new Healthcare Workers.

Support Team

Support Team

Our support team comprises various departments, such as administration, human resources, finance, and marketing. They support the Scheduling Team with customer service, payroll, documentation, advertisement, and networking with community partners.

Health Care Workers

Our field-based team of Health Care Workers includes LPN’s, HCW’s, Companions, and Housekeepers. They offer care that aims to sustain our clients’ independence, and dignity, and ensure their comfort and safety within their communities.
