Classic LifeCare is comprised of a team of dedicated individuals who are passionate about helping others. Our trained Healthcare Workers, LPN’s, and Housekeepers complete a thorough healthcare orientation to help them in their roles. They can also access our online Classic LifeCare Academy to stay up to date with the latest healthcare knowledge and practices. Our Scheduling and Clinical team also assist them with any general queries or medical guidance.

We’ve maintained many of these agreements for over a decade, consistently meeting rigorous care and safety standards. Currently, we have partnerships with WorkSafe BC, ICBC, and the Department of Veteran Affairs in Comox.

Empowering the Comox Community Through Courageous Conversations

In 2023, our Classic LifeCare Comox team initiated a series of community open houses to share vital healthcare information and resources within the Comox Valley. We partner with other local organizations supporting seniors and caregivers and formed “Courageous Conversations”. These partners include Comox Valley Seniors Support, Alongside Caregiver Consulting, and Keystone Eldercare Solutions.

Courageous Conversations is a free monthly event covering topics such as Dementia, Extreme Weather Preparedness, Fraud Prevention, and more. Each month, we invite guests who are specialists in a particular topic to deliver a presentation and share their knowledge with the attendees. It is also the home of the only Comox Valley seniors’ resource fair. We are here to help assist you in finding whatever information you need about local resources. We’re here to assist you in accessing local resources and finding the information you need.

Earlier this week, I attended the Caregivers Educational session in Comox learning of support services available locally. For my friend who is dealing with the early stages of her husband’s dementia, the advice and knowledge of resources gave her a feeling of empowerment for handling her situation. Indeed 90 minutes well spent! Many seniors move to Comox from other areas of Canada and do not have family or friend support to lean on as they age and encounter health and other challenges. From conversations and observations, Classic LifeCare picked up on the needs of many Comox Valley seniors and their loved ones.

Classic LifeCare has provided home care to our aging parents for more than five years. The caregivers persevered through initial objections by the parents to the point where they are now deeply appreciated. At our request, the number of caregivers has been more limited recently, providing the opportunity for more consistent care and better relationships with our parents. Knowing our parents are being looked after by Classic LifeCare has been a comfort to us, especially those of us who live out of town.
