Driving Miss Daisy Helps With Independent Living

Driving Miss Daisy Client Victoria

In this blog, we interview Driving Miss Daisy client Victoria about her independent and meaningful life. Victoria shares her inspiring story, demonstrating the power of determination and the pursuit of personal fulfillment.

Born and raised in North Italy, Victoria embraced her first adventure when she was just 12 years old. At this time, she accompanied her parents to Western Canada. She married young and had two beautiful children. Victoria re-married in her 30s and shared ten blissful years of marriage with her husband.

Victoria Lives Life to the Fullest

When asked about the highlights of her life, Victoria fondly reminisces:

Traveling and becoming a successful businesswoman. I was born into Catholicism however as I aged, I no longer felt connected to that religion. When I travelled the world, I loved seeing different cultures and celebrating their spirituality. I visited countries like Spain, India, Costa Rica, Tibet, and Nepal. Through my travels, I found Buddhism in India and Nepal. I felt most connected with these religious beliefs.

A trip to Costa Rica introduced Victoria to Belinta, who became one of her closest friends. Captivated by Belinta’s story, Victoria and her husband decided to purchase four acres of land in Halton Hills, Mississauga, Ontario. The move across Canada marked the beginning of a new chapter for Victoria, one that would see her pursue her passion for interior design and eventually establish her own successful business. She continued to grow her business over the next three decades, one of her greatest prides.

A New Adventure Brings a More Peaceful Life

Victoria decided that she wanted to live a more peaceful life and followed Belinta to the West Coast of Vancouver Island, where she currently lives. Today, She revels in the tranquility of her surroundings, cherishing her independence and the close friendships she has cultivated. Victoria finds solace in her sanctuary-like garden, where she can immerse herself in nature. Material possessions hold little importance for Victoria; instead, she values the intangible joys of life—personal connections, freedom, and the ability to live life on her own terms.

Victoria’s advice to the younger generation is simple yet powerful: “You do you. Don’t waste your time and energy on people who aren’t going to change. You can determine your own happiness. Surround yourself with people who make you happy.”
